Discussion about games

You might not know, but I am a serious gaming enthusiast. I grew up playing games and actually base a majority of knowledge I have currently on games that I had encountered before. I learned a significant amount of vocabulary and internet slang, as well as being able to hold online conversations with strangers by playing on online servers of the game Minecraft and watching youtube videos of live plays of the game. It was a game that influenced a huge part of my life, after all, I played the game for over 8 years.

I played all kinds of different games: mobile games, fps games, idle games etc... Two games that I played in my childhood at hat I remember particular is bloons tower defense and anything from cool math games really. https://www.coolmathgames.com/. Idle games are a genre that I find particularly interesting but the majority might find it extremely dull. Idle games, or Incremental games are games that require the player performing actions such as clicking on the screen repeatedly (grinding) to earn in-game currency. As the game progresses, the currency in the game increases exponentially as well. There is absolutely no content to the game whatsoever, but it always gave me a thrilling feeling of seeing the numbers going up for no reason.

I still play idle games today. The two games that I still play consistently today is tap titans 2 and osu! (I'll get to what it is later). Tap titans 2 is more of a game that allows me to kill time with, because at the later parts of the game, not even tapping is required. After playing for two years, I still don't understand how such a game is able to grasp my interest for such a long time while I play daily.

Rhythm games is my all-time favorite genre. I always loved the concept of combining my favorite music into a game. I used to play mobile rhythm games such as cytus and deemo that require the player to tap on circles in specific patterns accordingly to the beat of the music.

osu! has a slightly different mechanic. It incorporates aim skills into a rhythm game. The most basic explanation is that the player has to aim accordingly to where the circles appear, and click the circles to the beat. Players can create beatmaps and therefore there are thousands of different songs to play on. It's a game with immense variety and there is no limit to the improvement of a particular skillset.

The gameplay looks something like this and top players create scores that are mindblowing like this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AXOBMpSpsPU. This is just an indication to how much people can improve, and the dedication put into improving can be reflected on normal skills too, not just gaming. It's a reason that keeps me playing the game.

This is just an introduction to what kinds of games I play, and I will get into the specifics in the next post.
